In loving memory of Dr. Donald Verne Thomson, born Oct. 2, 1928 in Toronto Ontario. Verne died peacefully on April 11th, 2018 at the age of 89. Keeping true to his character, he lived life to the fullest right to the end. Verne is survived by his loving wife Huguette, sister Freda, his three sons Lance, Shawn and Darryl, his two step daughters Sherry Lyn, Kerry Ann, his daughters-in-law and sons-in-law Sheila, Kerri, Steve and Mark, his eight grandchildren Jasper, Skyler, Kristen and Leanne, Tristan, Tegan, Aidan and Ella and his great granddaughter Rayne. He is predeceased by his first wife Joan and his son Curtis.
The first chiropractic college in Canada opened its doors in Toronto in 1945. Verne graduated from that college just 10 years later. He was one of the original old boys who paved the road for the future of the chiropractic profession. He ran his practice at the corner of Bloor and Islington in Toronto for over 40 years. Verne won Chiropractor of the Year in 1982, which is a testament to the professional care he provided. His legacy as a doctor of chiropractic now spans three generations and is a tribute to the countless lives he has helped and saved. Verne leaves us all with an ingrained legacy of his love for all people, a relentless positive attitude that saw the good in everyone, a generosity that knew no bounds, a never give up and stick with it ‘till you get it right character and an integrity that counted every stroke on the golf course even when no one was looking. To know him was a blessing and his incredible way of living life to the utmost will carry on for many generations. ….and of course who could forget that million dollar smile.
