Wanda Elizabeth Kornatowski

Surrounded with love by family and friends, Wanda passed away peacefully after a brief, courageous fight with cancer at Princess Margaret Hospital, Monday, March 16, 2009. Daughter of Roman, she was predeceased by her beloved mother Wiktoria and brother Stan. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Halina with husband Jim Dinner and cherished as “Ciocia” by Thomas, Andrew, Kaitlyn. A great friend and Ciocia to many, she was admired and will be dearly missed with affection by all who were impressed by her formidable talents especially Bonnie and Barbara. Wanda, most recently, was employed with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Being very proud of her Polish heritage, she was involved with scouting and various organizations like ZNP, KPK, SPK. Notably as Director/Choreographer of the Goral Dance Ensemble and Zorza Dance Group, her love of dance, song, music, was contagious and brought glorious memories and appreciation. The family wishes to thank nurses Wendy, Patricia and Mai for their tender care of Wanda in her last days. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm, Monday from 5 to 7 pm. A Memorial Service will take place Monday at 7 pm in the Chapel. Interment Tuesday 9:30 am at Glendale Memorial Gardens. Messages of Condolence may be placed at www.RidleyFuneralHome.com.
