Rose Baldwin (nee Close)
Our Little 'Irish' Rosebud passed peacefully
on Sunday, July 19th, 2009 with her family by
her side. After staging a valiant 3 year struggle
with cancer Rose passed away at Princess Margaret
Hospital, Palliative Care Unit in her 58th year.
Beloved wife of James Baldwin. Cherished daughter
of Irene 'Granny' Close and her dear departed
Da' Arthur. Dear sister of Terry (Eddie), Jim
(Nina), Charlie (Jocelyn), Marian (Kerry) and
her strength and inspiration for years, her
departed brother Art. Most loved sister-in-law
to Marie (Ray), Fred (Deborah), Joe (Susan),
Colleen, John (Laura), Rick (Lucy); so many
loving nieces and nephews ; her much adored
and 'spoiled by Rose' grand nieces and nephews;
all her cousins, 'The Iris', 'The Mimico', 'The
Pittsburghians'; her vast circle of friends
and work colleagues who seemed to be there every
step of the way. I'm sure Rose will be remembered
in many different ways but always as a very
giving and generous person, a trustful and true
individual, very caring and thoughtful (even
through her time of sickness. She continually
and openly nurtured the love for her family
and friends right up to the end. The world will
continue to turn and life will go on but there
will be a small empty spot in it without our
Rose ... A special thanks to the dedicated team
of health care professionals at Princess Margaret
Hospital. Friends will be received at the Ridley
Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between
Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705)
on Tuesday, July 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday,
July 22 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral
Mass to be held at St. Leo's Roman Catholic
Church on Thursday, July 23 at 10 a.m. Cremation
