Richard Joseph Mitchell

Joe Mitchell passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2007 in his 80th year. Joe remained a beloved and devoted husband to Margaret for the past 59 years. Predeceased by his son, Brian. Loving father to Diane (Gauthier), her husband Steve, and grandchildren; Lisa and Paul. Cherished father of Gail (Heasty), her husband Brad, and grandson Mitchell. Sadly missed by his brother Bill (“Ted”) Mitchell of St. Catherines. Joe was a longtime resident of Alderwood, past elder of Alderwood Presbyterian Church, member of Weston Presbyterian Church, member of Masonic Long Branch Lodge and retired employee of Christie Brown & Co. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and neighbours, all of whom knew him to be a kind, helpful and giving soul. Our thanks and appreciation to the staff of The Village of Humber Heights, for their dedicated care of our father over the past 2 years. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home; 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Tuesday from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
