Mary (May) Magee Bryson
1914 – 2007.
Born in Portadown in Northern Ireland, Immigrated with husband George and their children in 1951. May will be remembered by many for her service in the early 60’s when she owned the Blue Grill Restaurant at 16th Street. May also served as Club President at West Acre’s Senior’s Social Club in the 70’s; she had an occasion to argue for their rights at Toronto City Hall. She spent her final years in a beautiful long term care facility in Cambridge, Ontario called St. Andrew’s Terrace, where they made her final years very comfortable. May went to sleep at 4:10pm on Thursday, May 10, 2007 in her 93rd year. If tears could build a stairway and memories build a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. Precious mother left without us, sons Jack (the late Audrey), George (Marlene) and daughter Eleanor (Steve), 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W.
