Born on Seventh Street, New Toronto March 2, 1920 died March 4, 2009. Beloved Wife of Ross (68 years), dear Mom of Wendy, John (Linda), Nanny to Matthew, fondly remembered by nieces and nephews and long time friends. If you know how to swim and live on the Lakeshore, Lou Gamble probably taught you how! She was Gus Ryder&#8217;s first champion marathon swimmer. She taught swimming until she was 80 years old while serving as VP of Lakeshore Swimming Club. In 1996, Lou was inducted into the Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame. She was recognized by the Government of Canada (1987), Swim Ontario, and Swim Canada. Lou was Volunteer of the Year for Etobicoke in 1993 for her services to the community. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Gordon Preston and Brenda for their caring and understanding over the many years; Salome her personal care worker, Sarah, Divna, Vivianna and Hilda at the &#8220;Club&#8221;. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Etobicoke Services for Seniors. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W.
