Beloved husband for 51 years of &quot;his honey,&quot; Doreen Peiluck, dear brother of Vic in Calgary, Lil and Min in Winnipeg, cherished uncle to nieces and nephews and friend to many, Joe is predeceased by brother Bob and sisters Jean, Hilda and Helen. Joe will be greatly missed by life-long friend Nina (George) Cambell, goddaughter Kathy and Lorne Honickman and Karen and Frank Wetselaar and their children. Born in Winnipeg, Joe was stricken with polio at infancy, but never allowed his &quot;bad leg&quot; to defeat him. As a young person, he participated in all sports and acquired the nickname &quot;Hopper.&quot; This spread to his siblings with whom he always maintained close ties. Later in Toronto, Joe was a devoted member for 55 years of the Shevchenko Choir and known for his readiness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Up until the end, his sense of humour remained intact and he was a model of stoicism. We would like to thank Nurse Monika of the Mississauga Trillium Health Centre for her outstanding care and compassion. A memorial service and reception celebrating Joe's life will be held in the future. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
