Jack Burke

In his 90th year. The family of Jack Burke regrets his passing in the early hours of May 23rd. He went to join his beloved wife Kathleen (Rheims) December 6, 2006. Jack led a very active life till the end. He served in the Provost Court during World War II. He was in St. John’s Ambulance for many years training young cadets. In 1999 he received his knighthood. Jack and his wife were very active in the I.O.F. where he was appointed high chief Ranger. He leaves behind his sister Rene Lyth, sister-in-law Elsie Holmes and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jack worked for Bell Canada for most of his working life till he retired. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service in the chapel on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
