Flight Lt. Gordon Leslie Wood

(1920-2007)

Passed away peacefully at McCall Centre on Dec 15th, 2007. Loving husband of Mary (Mulcock) for over 62 years. Survived by daughters Sharon Elton (John), Susan Clunie (Bill) and Sandy Edmonds (Doug). Grandad will be missed by grandchildren David, Brian, Ian (Pat), Catherine (Dan), Mark, Ryan (Vickie), Andrew and Kailea and great grandchildren Drake, Savannah and Addison. Predeceased by siblings Fred, Millicent, Horace, Edwin and Maurice. Served with RCAF during WW2. Shot down over Nurenburg and was a POW for 13 months. Gord was happiest when surrounded by his family and will be dearly missed. Family and friends have many fond memories of time spent at the cottage near Parry Sound. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Monday, December 17, 2007 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, and Tuesday from 12 to 1pm at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church (156 Sixth Street, Toronto). A Funeral Service will be held at 1pm at the Church Tuesday. Interment Springcreek Cemetery.
