Ernest “Ward” Mander

On May 11, 2008, in his 92nd year in Toronto. Survived by beloved wife Madeline “June” (nee Leonard). Dear father of Gregory (Barbara) of Mississauga, Judith Maksym, Bronte and Beverley Dowdle, of Oakville. A Granddad to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brother William, sisters Dorothy Farrow, Audrey Harrison and Verna Hutchinson. Ward was born August 21, 1916 at Todmorden. After the sudden death of his father in April 1918, the family moved to New Toronto where Ward was educated, met June and was married in 1940. Except for a short period of less than two years in a restaurant business with his wife at Kimberley, Ontario, Ward lived and was employed his entire life in South Etobicoke. A private service was conducted at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Etobicoke. Donations may be made to the CNIB. Messages of Condolence may be placed at www.RidleyFuneralHome.com.
