Edna May Henry
Peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Henry. Loving mother of Denise and David (Tanya), and proud grandma of Kayla. Dearest daughter of Mary and the late John. Caring sister of Jean, Lorraine, Shirley, the late Margaret and the late Ken. Arriving from Liverpool as a toddler, Edna’s extraordinary life saw her live through the Great Depression and 12-hour-days working in the munitions factories of west-end Toronto during World War II. In keeping with her cheery and always upbeat spirit, the memories she shared were always good ones. She met her true love, Roy, while working at Williams Shoe and they were later married in 1948. Edna was the best daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbour one could know. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Islington and Kipling Aves., at 14th St., 416-259-3705) on Saturday and Sunday, both from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at Church of the Atonement (256 Sheldon Ave. in Etobicoke) at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2007. Interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations in Edna’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
We Love You, Mom!
